About Rojales
Rojales is a traditional Spanish riverside town straddling the River Segura in the Vega Baja region, about 10 minutes inland from the southern Costa Blanca coast. The town is known for its historic stone bridge, its unique cave houses (Cuevas del Rodeo) converted into an artisan quarter, and one of the best weekly markets in the region.
The Cuevas del Rodeo — a network of cave houses carved into the hillside — have been transformed into artists’ studios and galleries, making Rojales an unlikely but genuine cultural destination. The cave quarter regularly hosts exhibitions, concerts, and workshops.
Rojales serves as the administrative centre for the wider area that includes Ciudad Quesada and Benijófar. The town has excellent infrastructure with a modern health centre, supermarkets, banks, and a growing selection of restaurants. The Thursday market draws visitors from across the region for its fresh produce and artisan goods.
