Over Marbella

Marbella sits on 27 km of south-facing coastline beneath the Sierra Blanca, whose La Concha peak shelters the town and keeps winter daytime temperatures around 17°C. The old town around Plaza de los Naranjos keeps its whitewashed Andalusian core, the Golden Mile runs west past the Marbella Club and Puente Romano estates to Puerto Banús marina, and San Pedro de Alcántara beyond it works as the more residential, better-value district.

The town runs at full speed all year. International schools such as Aloha College and Swans, private hospitals and a dining scene holding several Michelin stars support a large permanent international community alongside the summer visitors. Behind Puerto Banús, Nueva Andalucía’s golf valley groups the Las Brisas, Aloha and Los Naranjos courses a few minutes apart.

Bezienswaardigheden

🏛️
Old Town & Plaza de los Naranjos
The 16th-century square at the heart of the Casco Antiguo, ringed by orange trees, the old town hall and tapas terraces. The lanes around it hold small galleries and courtyard restaurants.
🛥️
Puerto Banús
The marina built in 1970 remains the coast’s social centrepiece: superyachts at the quay, designer boutiques behind it, and a beachfront that stays lively from breakfast to late evening.
🥾
Hike La Concha
The 1,215-metre summit behind the town is a demanding half-day hike from the Refugio de Juanar. On clear days the view reaches Gibraltar and the Moroccan coast.
🏖️
Walk the Golden Mile Promenade
The flat seafront path links Marbella’s old town to Puerto Banús, passing Fontanilla and Nagüeles beaches, chiringuitos and the landmark Golden Mile estates. About an hour on foot each way.
