Orihuela Costa stretches along 16 kilometres of the southern Costa Blanca coastline, from Punta Prima in the north to Campoamor in the south. Unlike traditional Spanish towns that grew organically over centuries, Orihuela Costa was purpose-built as a residential and holiday resort from the 1980s onwards, and this planned development means one thing for pool lovers: virtually every complex has one. The flat, low-rise layout of most urbanisations means children can move freely and safely between their apartment and the pool area.
