Golf Holiday Rentals on the Costa Blanca

Stay near Las Colinas, Villamartin, La Marquesa and 20+ championship courses — with year-round sunshine and green fees that will not break the bank.

The Costa Blanca Golf Scene

The Costa Blanca is one of Europe's premier golf destinations, combining world-class courses with a climate that allows play 365 days a year. While other popular golf regions shut down for winter or suffer months of rain, the southern Costa Blanca enjoys mild, dry winters with daytime temperatures of 15-20°C — perfect playing conditions when courses back home are waterlogged or frozen.

The concentration of courses is remarkable. Within a 30-minute drive of Torrevieja there are over 20 courses, ranging from par-72 championship layouts designed by the likes of Cabell Robinson and Dave Thomas to more forgiving resort courses ideal for mid-handicappers and social players. Green fees are highly competitive too — a round at a quality course typically costs between €40 and €90 depending on the season, a fraction of what you would pay for a comparable standard in the UK or Northern Europe.

The golf lifestyle here extends beyond the fairways. Most courses have excellent clubhouses with restaurants, pro shops, and practice facilities. Many golfers settle into a routine of morning rounds followed by leisurely lunches on the terrace, with afternoons by the pool or on the beach. It is a combination that keeps golfers — and their non-golfing partners — coming back year after year.

Top Courses Nearby

Las Colinas Golf & Country Club
Designed by Cabell Robinson, Las Colinas is regularly ranked among the best courses in Spain. The par-71 layout winds through natural ravines and pine-covered hills with stunning views. The exclusive resort setting includes a clubhouse restaurant, spa, and premium villas. A bucket-list course for any serious golfer.
Villamartin Golf Club
One of the most established courses on the Costa Blanca, Villamartin has hosted numerous European Tour qualifying events. The mature tree-lined fairways and well-guarded greens provide a fair but demanding test. The famous Villamartin plaza, with its bars and restaurants, makes for a perfect 19th hole.
La Marquesa Golf
Located in Ciudad Quesada, La Marquesa is an enjoyable and well-maintained course set among citrus groves and mature palms. It is particularly popular with holiday golfers thanks to its welcoming atmosphere, reasonable green fees, and the challenging par-3 island green at the 17th.
Lo Romero Golf
A modern, links-style course near Pilar de la Horadada. Lo Romero is known for its wide fairways, excellent greens, and sea views from several holes. The course is well-suited to all abilities and offers superb value for money. The impressive glass-fronted clubhouse serves excellent food.
Campoamor Golf
Positioned between Orihuela Costa and the coast, Campoamor offers a classic Mediterranean golf experience with mature palm-lined fairways, water features, and well-positioned bunkers. The course is walkable and enjoyable for all standards, and the nearby beach is just minutes away for a post-round swim.

Where to Stay for Golf

Orihuela Costa is the undisputed hub for golf holidays on the Costa Blanca. Villamartin, Campoamor, Las Ramblas, and Las Colinas are all within a 15-minute drive, and several more courses lie just slightly further afield. The area has excellent infrastructure for holidaymakers — supermarkets, restaurants, bars, and the major La Zenia Boulevard shopping centre. This makes it perfect for groups where some play golf and others prefer shopping, beach time, or spa days.

Las Colinas area (Campoamor / San Miguel de Salinas) offers a quieter, more exclusive golf resort atmosphere. Properties here tend to sit on or near the Las Colinas course itself, meaning you can walk to the first tee. The surrounding countryside is rolling and green, with almond and olive groves, and the coast is just 10 minutes away.

Algorfa and Ciudad Quesada provide excellent value and a more residential feel. La Marquesa golf course is right on the doorstep, La Finca is a short drive away, and the area has grown into a popular base for winter-sun golfers who come for two or three months at a time. The weekly markets, local Spanish bars, and relaxed pace of life add to the charm.

Golf and Beach: The Best of Both

One of the great advantages of a Costa Blanca golf holiday is that the beach is never far away. Most courses are within 15 minutes of the Mediterranean, so your routine can easily combine a morning round with an afternoon on the sand. The beaches at La Zenia, Cabo Roig, and Guardamar are all Blue Flag-rated with lifeguards, beach bars, and excellent swimming conditions from May through October.

This dual appeal makes the Costa Blanca particularly popular with mixed groups and couples where one partner plays golf and the other does not. While the golfer is on the course, the non-golfer has access to beautiful beaches, spa facilities, shopping at La Zenia Boulevard, or exploring the markets and old towns of Torrevieja, Cartagena, and Elche. Everyone regroups in the evening for dinner at one of the excellent local restaurants — a formula that keeps everyone happy.
