Lunch is 13:30–15:30, dinner 20:30–23:00. Restaurants are often empty at 18:00 — the Spanish eat late. Adjust your schedule and you'll enjoy a more authentic experience.
A 3-course lunch menu with bread, a drink, and often wine — typically €10–15. Available at most local restaurants on weekdays. The best way to eat well on a budget.
Not expected but appreciated. Locals round up the bill or leave 5–10% for good service. There is no obligation — service charge is included in prices.
Every town has a weekly market selling fresh fruit, local olives, cheese, clothing, and handicrafts. A great way to experience local culture and stock up your rental kitchen.
Mercadona (best value), Lidl, Aldi, Consum, and Carrefour are all widely available. Most open 09:00–21:30, Monday to Saturday. Some areas close on Sundays — stock up on Saturday if you arrive at the weekend.
