Why Holiday in Benidorm?
Benidorm is the Costa Blanca's entertainment capital — a high-energy resort city with towering beachfront skylines, two sweeping Blue Flag beaches and a nightlife scene that rivals anywhere in Spain. Whether you want theme parks, water sports, live cabaret shows or simply a sunbed on Levante beach, Benidorm has it all.
Holiday rentals cater to every budget: high-rise apartments with panoramic sea views on the Levante strip, quieter family apartments behind Poniente beach, or luxury villas in the hillside urbanisations of Sierra Helada. The Old Town offers a more traditional tapas-and-sunset alternative.

Beaches
Playa de Levante
The iconic 2 km crescent of golden sand backed by a glittering skyline. Lively atmosphere with sun lounger hire, watersports, beach bars and a vibrant promenade. Buzzing from dawn to well past midnight.
Playa de Poniente
A wider, quieter 3 km beach on the western side. More popular with families and Spanish holidaymakers, with a beautiful modernist promenade and less crowded conditions even in peak summer.
Cala del Mal Pas
A hidden pebble cove beneath the Old Town castle, accessed by steep steps. Tiny and intimate, with views across to Benidorm Island and a single chiringuito. A local secret.
Dining
Benidorm’s Old Town is a tapas paradise — tiny bars serve excellent pintxos and vermouth in the winding streets around the church mirador. The Levante strip has every international cuisine, while Rincón de Loix offers affordable menú del día. For fine dining, head to the hills around Finestrat for Michelin-quality options.
Activities & Attractions
Terra Mítica theme park — thrilling rollercoasters and water rides themed around ancient Mediterranean civilisations
Mundomar marine park — dolphin shows, sea lion encounters and a tropical bird aviary
Aqualandia waterpark — one of Europe’s largest, with high-adrenaline slides and family splash zones
Benidorm Island boat trip — glass-bottomed boats to the island nature reserve with snorkelling
Benidorm Palace — Las Vegas-style cabaret dinner show with flamenco, magic and dance
Getting Around
Benidorm has an excellent TRAM connection running along the coast to Alicante, Altea and Dénia — no car needed. The town is flat and walkable between both beaches. Local buses serve the theme parks. Only rent a car if you plan inland day trips.
Family Tip
Between Terra Mítica, Aqualandia and Mundomar, families could spend an entire holiday at the parks alone. Poniente beach is calmer for young children, and many restaurants have dedicated kids’ menus. Mini-golf and go-kart tracks are dotted along the Levante strip.
Best Time to Visit
Benidorm is a true year-round resort. Summer (June–September) is peak beach season, but winter is mild (16–19°C) and popular with long-stay visitors. Theme parks operate Easter to October. The Old Town fiestas in November are a local highlight.

About Benidorm
Benidorm is the undisputed capital of the Costa Blanca and one of Europe’s most recognisable resort destinations. Its dramatic skyline of high-rise buildings — often compared to a miniature Manhattan — rises along two magnificent sweeping beaches: Playa de Levante and Playa de Poniente.
Despite its modern resort character, Benidorm retains genuine charm in its Casco Antiguo (Old Town), perched on a rocky promontory between the two main beaches. Here you’ll find narrow whitewashed streets, traditional tapas bars, the iconic blue-domed church of San Jaime, and the famous Balcon del Mediterraneo.
Benidorm enjoys a genuine year-round season. Summer brings the full beach holiday experience, while winter attracts tens of thousands of long-stay visitors drawn by average January temperatures of 17°C, affordable living costs, and an unrivalled programme of entertainment.
