Playa de La Mata
A magnificent 2.5 km stretch of golden sand backed by natural dunes and a pine-shaded promenade. Blue Flag, with chiringuitos, lifeguards and a wonderfully uncrowded feel even in peak summer.
Playa de Los Naufragos
Just south of La Mata, this smaller beach has a more urban feel with a seaside promenade and proximity to Torrevieja’s main shopping areas. Clean and well-maintained.

La Mata’s promenade has a string of restaurant terraces serving paella, fresh fish and tapas with sea views. The area around the Plaza Encarnación Puchol has several family restaurants. For a wider choice, Torrevieja centre is a 10-minute drive with its extensive dining scene, including the famous Friday market food stalls.

Best Time to Visit
May to October for beach days. The dune nature reserve is beautiful in spring with wildflowers. La Mata avoids the peak crowds of Torrevieja centre, making July–August more relaxed here than in the city.
