Why Holiday in Torremolinos?
Torremolinos was the original Costa del Sol resort and retains an infectious, unpretentious energy. La Carihuela, a former fishing village, is now a beachfront strip of excellent chiringuitos (beach restaurants) serving some of the best fried fish on the coast. The town itself pulses with nightlife, especially along Calle San Miguel.
Holiday rentals cater to every type of visitor: affordable studio apartments steps from Playamar beach, family-sized flats in Montemar with pool complexes, and renovated apartments in La Carihuela. Excellent rail links to Málaga airport and city centre make it a practical base for exploring the wider coast.

Getting Around
Torremolinos has excellent Cercanías train connections to Málaga airport (8 min) and city centre (20 min), plus south to Fuengirola. The town is flat and walkable between beaches. No car needed for a beach holiday.
Family Tip
The combination of Aqualand, Crocodile Park and Benalmádena’s cable car gives families enough attractions for a full week. La Carihuela’s gentle waters are safe for children, and most restaurants welcome kids warmly.
Best Time to Visit
Year-round resort with mild winters. Summer (June–September) for beaches and waterparks. The carnival in February is one of Andalucía’s best, and the chiringuitos stay open most of the year in good weather.

About Torremolinos
Torremolinos is where Spanish package tourism began in the 1960s, and the town has embraced that heritage while modernising into a diverse, vibrant resort that offers some of the best value on the Costa del Sol. Its 7km of wide, golden beaches — from La Carihuela to Los Álamos — make it one of the most beach-rich destinations on the coast.
La Carihuela, the former fishing village at the western end, is the gastronomic heart of Torremolinos. Its narrow streets are lined with chiringuitos and seafood restaurants serving espetos de sardinas and arroz marinero, with tables spilling onto the sand. The atmospheric Bajondillo steps lead down from the old town to the beach in a dramatic cascade.
Torremolinos benefits from direct Cercanías commuter train service from Málaga Airport (just 10 minutes), making it one of the most convenient resorts on the Costa del Sol to reach. The town also has a thriving LGBTQ+ scene, excellent water parks (Aqualand), and easy access to Málaga city.
