Why Holiday in Moraira?

Moraira is an upmarket fishing village that has retained its intimate, village-like character despite growing into one of the Costa Blanca's most desirable addresses. The small pebble beach of El Portet sits in a turquoise bay, while the Wednesday market and harbourside restaurants keep the atmosphere authentically Spanish.

Luxury villas dominate the holiday rental market here — many with private pools, mature gardens and sweeping sea views across to the Peñón de Ifach. There are also elegant apartments near the marina. Moraira suits couples and families looking for tranquillity, quality dining and beautiful scenery without the resort crowds.

Beaches

Playa de l’Ampolla

The main town beach — a small, sandy crescent beside the harbour with calm waters, a watchtower backdrop and easy access to restaurants. Blue Flag and well-maintained.

El Portet

A beautiful horseshoe bay with turquoise water, popular for paddleboarding and snorkelling. The beach is a mix of sand and pebble, backed by a handful of excellent restaurants.

Dining

Moraira’s dining scene punches well above its size. The harbour has seafood restaurants with terrace views over the fishing boats. The village centre offers creative Mediterranean cuisine, wine bars and artisan ice cream. The Wednesday market is famous for its gourmet food stalls selling local honey, almonds and wine from the Jalón valley.

About Moraira

Moraira (officially Teulada-Moraira) is an exclusive, low-rise coastal village that has carefully maintained its Mediterranean charm while becoming one of the most sought-after addresses on the Costa Blanca. There are no high-rises here — local planning regulations ensure the skyline remains dominated by pine-covered hills and terracotta rooftops.

The heart of Moraira centres around a pretty harbour with a 16th-century watchtower. The harbour hosts a small fleet of fishing boats alongside pleasure craft, and the daily fish auction still takes place every afternoon.

What sets Moraira apart is its deliberate commitment to quality over quantity. The residential areas are dominated by elegant villas with private pools, many perched on hillsides with sweeping panoramic sea views.
